FC Bayern Munich: Next round in Qatar Zoff

Next round in the Qatar dispute at Bayern Munich: How ntv reported that the district court of Munich had rejected the injunction that club member Michael Ott wanted to obtain against the record champions in the run-up to the annual general meeting.

“The decision of the Munich District Court contradicts the constitutional principle of effective legal protection in a way that shakes us,” said Otts lawyer Andreas Hüttl von ntv cited: “With this justification, membership rights could be permanently undermined.

In addition, the court did not reject the application because of content-related problems, but justified it by stating that it anticipated the main issue. The application could also be made at one of the upcoming annual general meetings.

Conversely, however, this would mean that FC Bayern could extend the advertising contract with Qatar Airways, which runs until 2023 and which has often been criticized by fans, at any time, which would make further applications pointless.

Ott, trainee lawyer from Mainz and member of the FCB since 2007, wanted to submit an application at the Munich annual meeting next Thursday so that the record champions’ advertising deal with the state airline is no longer extended.

Ott: FC Bayern “flees cowardly” from the fan concern

Ott had publicly criticized the club on Thursday for its “delaying tactics” and confronted them with serious allegations because FCB had not yet responded to the request despite the deadline being set.

“FC Bayern knows exactly that the application is admissible, but does not react and allows deadlines to pass,” wrote Ott on Twitter. Ott explained that he had set the club a deadline of 12 noon on Wednesday to confirm the approval of the application. “The only reaction: the application has not yet been checked – for three and a half weeks (!).”

As a result, Ott threatened the club with legal action: “With this delaying tactic, FCB wants to make legal protection impossible,” he wrote. “A lawsuit has to be brought and an injunction obtained. I would not have thought that the club would flee from it so cowardly.”

On the crowdfounding platform betterplace.me, he called for donations to cover the costs of a possible procedure. On Friday evening, twice the estimated amount of 3,000 euros had already been collected.

From Bayern there was only a narrow-lipped statement from President Herbert Hainer on Thursday evening Sky: “First of all, all applications relating to an amendment to the articles of association were examined. At the moment, the other applications received are being examined and the applicants are then informed.”

FC Bayern has defended its commitment in the desert state, which also includes training camps in the summer, many times. It was always said that changes could only be achieved through a dialogue with those in power on the ground. This intention was questioned on Thursday by the President of the Central Council of Jews and described as “in no way” logical.
