FC Bayern, rumor: Monaco probably doubts Nübel
Alexander Nübel and FC Bayern Munich could see each other again in the summer. Like the French L’Equipe reported the goalkeeper’s current club AS Monaco are looking behind the scenes for a replacement for the 26-year-old.
According to this, a series of less convincing appearances by Nübel, such as recently in the Europa League against Bayer Leverkusen, is said to have led to a rethink among the Monaco bosses. Originally, as reported by several media, the 26-year-old was planned beyond the summer. Monaco apparently aimed for another loan or even a permanent transfer of the keeper. Publicly, the keeper was defended to the last.
In the winter transfer window, Monaco had rejected Nübel’s return to the parent club Bayern Munich. FCB wanted to sign the goalkeeper as a replacement for the long-term injured Manuel Neuer, but the club from the principality put a stop to a change.
Nübel is on loan to Monaco until the end of the season. The 26-year-old has a contract with FC Bayern until 2025.
FC Bayern, News: Matthäus does not trust any Union player to play an FCB role
Lothar Matthäus (61) would not trust any of the Union Berlin professionals to have a career at FC Bayern. “With all due respect, I don’t see anyone at Union who would be a Bayern player,” said the German record international picture on sunday before the top game between the two clubs (5.30 p.m. in the live ticker).
“Union thrives on the unity of the team, on discipline, and every single player benefits from that,” Matthäus explained his opinion and asked: “Where was Becker before? A Trimmel, a Khedira, a bone? All good Bundesliga players , just not for the claims of Bayern.”
According to Matthäus, coach Urs Fischer could assert himself at a top club. “He demands a lot, especially discipline. He knows how to take the players. And he has this calm, this sovereignty like a hot field, a Heynckes, as well as a flick,” he said: “When Fischer clenches his fists, that’s it an outburst of anger.”
