FC Bayern, News: Kuffour defends Hasan Salihamidzic

Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic has repeatedly had to put up with criticism for his transfer policy in recent years. Former Bayern player Samuel Kuffour has no understanding for this.

“Why do people talk about Brazzo so much? Why do you allow yourself to criticize him?” Kuffour said in an interview sports1: “Brazzo is doing a great job. Bayern won the Champions League, they won the German championship and the World Cup with him. What more could you ask for? He shouldn’t be discouraged and carry on as before.”

The 46-year-old raves about three FCB players in particular. “I love this guy,” said Kuffour when asked about Leroy Sané: “He’s an almost complete player. By the way, we don’t have to talk about Sadio Mané either. He’s the second best player in the world behind Karim Benzema at the moment. And Alphonso Davies is one Machine. He’s only 21 and has incredible potential up front.”

The fact that the German record champions are currently only second in the Bundesliga behind Union Berlin does not worry the Ghanaian. The only thing that matters is who ends up holding the trophy, and that will be FC Bayern this season and in the years to come.

“I think the league is no longer attractive for Bayern fans. What Bayern fans need is the Champions League,” said Kuffour.

The former defender wore the Bayern shirt from 1994 to 2005. Kuffour now lives back in his African homeland, helps people in need, works as a TV expert and runs a real estate company.

FC Bayern, News: Concerns about Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller

FC Bayern is still without goalkeeper Manuel Neuer due to a bruise in his left shoulder joint. This was confirmed by coach Julian Nagelsmann at a press conference on Friday.

Worries are growing that the 36-year-old could miss the World Cup, which begins on November 20 in Qatar. “I don’t know because I’m not a clairvoyant,” Nagelsmann said when asked if Neuer would make it to the World Cup: “Manu and I can’t look into his body. We don’t know when the pain stops. I know not, but I’m sure he can play the World Cup. We’ll do everything for that.”

As the picture reported, Neuer is now also struggling with calf problems. The plan is for the goalkeeper to play two more games before the World Cup – on November 8 against Werder Bremen and four days later at FC Schalke 04.

Meanwhile, Thomas Müller is having problems with his hip. The 33-year-old will not be back on the pitch for the game at Hertha BSC until November 5 at the earliest. “We have to take him out and give the structure a little rest,” said Nagelsmann.

FC Bayern, News: Praise for Sven Ulreich

Since Neuer is out, substitute goalkeeper Sven Ulreich is all the more important. The 34-year-old has played six competitive games between the posts for Bayern Munich this season.

“We’re glad we have someone who is always there when he’s needed. He’s a good guy and an important guy for the team, who lives up to his role and is aware of his role. He doesn’t take long Start-up time to get the necessary tension. He does it outstandingly, “said Nagelsmann.
