FC Bayern, News: FCB against PSG for Matthäus Favorit
The Champions League draw gave FC Bayern the clash with Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16. “Unfortunately, light is something else,” wrote Lothar Matthäus in his sky-Column: “But the truth is also: the very best time of Lionel Messi and Neymar is over.”
Although Messi and Neymar are still able to decide a game with a single action, the 61-year-old said: “Not to mention Mbappe, because today he is an absolutely top-class player and there are not many like his have quality.”

FC Bayern, News: Salihamidzic cancels loan
Nick Salihamidzic has called off his loan from the Vancouver Whitecaps. In a video on Instagram, the son of sports director Hasan Salihamidzic described the move to Canada as a “big mistake”.
The 19-year-old right-back was loaned out by Bayern’s second team to the reserves at the MLS club in July. Actually, Salihamidzic should stay in Vancouver until the end of 2023. However, he only made five appearances with the Whitecaps.
Salihamidzic is said to be training again at Bayern II next week. He is then expected to join a new club in the winter.
FC Bayern, News: Allianz Arena is being rebuilt
After Bayern’s Bundesliga game against Werder Bremen (8:30 p.m. in LIVETICKER), the Allianz Arena will be prepared for the NFL game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Seattle Seahawks (Sunday, 3:30 p.m.). Among other things, lines and benches still have to be set up.
Most of the work was already done in the summer. The playing field was extended by four meters to almost 110 meters. In addition, some walls were torn down and new showers installed to create enough space for the 53 players plus coaches of an NFL team. The NFL paid for it itself.
