This made him the youngest captain of a European first division club. He is also the youngest goalscorer in Croatian league history. It goes without saying that he has long been traded as the “new Luka Modric”.

The road to the pros is still a long way off – despite some professional experience for a 17-year-old – but Zvonarek will certainly take part in Julian Nagelsmann’s training more often and a place in the squad for the summer training camp is more than possible.

The couple has three children – after the long season and the Nations League, apparently now was the best opportunity to say yes and celebrate.
