FC Bayern, news and rumours: "Terrible"

Pep Guardiola once found his start at Bayern Munich “terrible”. Former world champion Lothar Matthäus praises Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in the highest tones. FC Bayern, News: “Terrible” – Pep Guardiola remembers FCB start

Pep Guardiola was anything but happy with his start at Bayern Munich in 2013. “I remember we won a lot of games in the first half of the season,” the Catalan told Norwegian TV Viaplay: “But we played terribly. We only won because of the unbelievable individual quality of the Bayern players. It just takes time to adapt.”

That was “a bit difficult” for him because the Bayern players asked “why you should change something when you’ve won in the past.” That’s normal, but you can’t “convince them of something you don’t believe in, because every coach is different and it takes time for it to work,” Guardiola explained.

The 51-year-old won three championships in Munich, twice the DFB Cup, the Club World Cup and the UEFA Supercup. With an average of 2.41 points per game, he is the fourth most successful coach in club history after Hansi Flick (2.53) and Jupp Heynckes (2.49 and 2.43).

Lothar Matthäus praised Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting to the skies. “He’s a model professional,” writes the 1990 world champion in his column sky: “Respected in the dressing room and mature enough that he was not and is not offended if either another player or system was preferred.”

FC Bayern, News: Kingsley Coman and Thomas Müller fit in time?

The personnel situation of FC Bayern Munich before the duel at FC Barcelona in the Champions League is still somewhat unclear.
