FC Bayern: Pavard talks about his future - and hopes for Coman

Bayern defender Benjamin Pavard has commented on his future and stated that he cannot currently imagine a change.

“Currently my focus is on Munich,” said the Frenchman in an interview with the kicker. At the same time, he emphasized that he would like his national team-mates Corentin Tolisso and Kingsley Coman to stay at FCB. “I hope I can play with both of them while I’m in Munich,” said Pavard.

According to his own statement, Pavard is currently very happy with his role at Bayern.

“According to the statistics, I play regularly, so I feel like a regular player. We have tough competition in every position, but that forces me to work harder every day and perform at my best – in training or during the games, “he explained.

The contract of the 25-year-old, who has always been in the starting line-up for the past few weeks, will run until 2024.

At the same time, Pavard spoke about his position. “My best position is in central defense, it has always been like that,” he said. “Of course I play for the team where I help them most. But I really like playing as a central defender.”

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann uses Pavard as a right full-back. In the French national team he has recently played mostly inside a five-man chain. “That suits me,” he said, “the center is my home.”
