The German record champions Bayern Munich tightened all corona measures before the start of training on Sunday in view of the current pandemic situation. In coordination with the Munich health department, the club announced on Thursday that “the tests will be much more closely meshed and all hygiene measures will be intensified”.
During the winter break, booster vaccinations were mainly carried out at FC Bayern as a central measure to protect against corona infections or severe courses of corona infection. “All players, coaches and staff members for whom this was already possible received the booster vaccination. The rest of them have recovered status or have been vaccinated,” said Roland Schmidt, team doctor and cardiologist.
There had been a lot of excitement about unvaccinated stars in Munich in recent weeks. The focus was on international player Joshua Kimmich, who had to take a break for a few weeks.
“With the hygiene concept adapted to the current situation and the expanded test strategy, we want to reduce the risk of a corona infection as much as possible. We will also ensure a reduction in close contact situations away from the football field,” emphasized Schmidt. The measures would also concern the observance of distance rules or the wearing of masks.
