FC Bayern, News: Kahn and Hainer demand Ballon d’Or for Lewandowski
In the upcoming election for the best football player in the world, from the perspective of Bayern bosses, there can only be one: Robert Lewandowski. “FC Bayern is always about titles, FC Bayern never rest. We wish Robert Lewandowski that he wins this award. He achieved something historic with 41 goals in the Bundesliga,” said Hainer during his speech.
The CEO Oliver Kahn sees it similarly: “I would be deeply disappointed if Lewy did not win this award. Nobody deserves this award more than he does.”
FC Bayern, News: Strong Bayern numbers despite Corona
In the fierce debates about Qatar sponsorship and a fundamentally heated annual general meeting, the annual report of FC Bayern was a little lost. In the report of the deputy chairman of the board, Jan-Christian Dreesen presented the numbers of FC Bayern München AG – and they were pretty good despite Corona.
In the past two years, FC Bayern achieved over 300 million euros through gaming operations – mainly through bonuses. In addition, the income from sponsorship and marketing increased to over 207 million euros in the 2020/21 financial year.
According to Dreesen, FC Bayern received up to 155 million euros less in the same period due to Corona. The current assets, i.e. the club’s much-quoted fixed-term deposit account, is 209 million euros despite the Corona losses – in the 2019/20 financial year it was 235.9 million euros. This is one of the reasons Dreesen once again explicitly emphasized: “We have an equity ratio at FC Bayern München AG of 72.3 percent – that is probably unique in world football.”
Despite the adverse circumstances, the net profit was 1.9 million euros. Dreesen: “Playing the entire season without a spectator means for us, in addition to the emotional hole, very painful losses in sales. Against this background, the results achieved are all the more positive. The club stands on a solid foundation that has now proven itself in times of crisis. “
FC Bayern, News: Oliver Kahn ducks in the Qatar debate
In the passionate and sometimes polemical debate about the sponsorship of Bavaria with Qatar, one protagonist remained astonishingly cautious: CEO Oliver Kahn did not allow himself to make any clear statements about the number one issue at the annual general meeting. Instead, Kahn only formulated a few vague theses in his 32-minute speech.
“We welcome that and share that: This increasing commitment of the fans to stand up for social issues,” said Kahn among other things. Instead, President Herbert Hainer and, above all, the chairman of the meeting and Vice President Prof. Dieter Mayer picked up one bloody nose after the other.
FC Bayern, News: Only Nagelsmann and Sane there – Rummenigge was also missing
Kahn’s predecessor as Bayern boss, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, surprisingly did not take part in the annual general meeting. Rummenigge must be excused, said Herbert Hainer. “I should give you my best regards.” It was not known why Rummenigge was not present.
Only coach Julian Nagelsmann and Leroy Sane were present from the team. That, in turn, should above all have been due to the already tense corona situation in Bavaria and was a precautionary measure.
