FC Bayern’s pre-season preparations are entering the next phase. On Monday, the FCB players made their way to Asia. But who is actually on the journey and who is missing? SPOX clarifies.
After the training camp is before the training camp you could say at FC Bayern. The record champions were guests at the sports facilities on Lake Tegernsee until Saturday, and now the entourage is already being drawn to the next tour stop.
From July 24th to August 3rd, the Asia trip is on the program for Bayern. Kimmich and Co. make their first stop in the Japanese capital Tokyo. Among other things, a test match against Champions League nemesis Manchester City is on the agenda. FCB will then travel on to Singapore, where a clash with Liverpool FC and Jürgen Klopp is expected.
The stay in Asia is very important for Bayern because of the various friendlies, but also because of the sheer length of the training camp. The first competitive game is only a few days after the end of the tour (Supercup final vs. Leipzig). All the more disappointing that some performers can’t be part of the trip. Below you will find an overview of all players who have started the journey.
FC Bayern Munich: FCB squad on the Asia trip
On their trip to Asia, Munich will have to do without four players. Manuel Neuer (broken leg) and Thomas Müller (hip problems) will remain on Säbener Straße to be able to pursue their rehabilitation training.
In addition, coach Thomas Tuchel has to do without newcomer Raphael Guerreiro. The defensive all-rounder tore a muscle bundle in the training camp at Tegernsee. A return to the start of the season is questionable.
Marcel Sabitzer is also not part of the squad. The 29-year-old is associated with a move to Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund. Loud sky Sabitzer was already on his way to BVB when he left for Asia. An announcement of the change is apparently imminent.
Alexander Nübel is not on the plane to Asia either. According to media reports, his move to VfB Stuttgart is on the home straight.
