BVB, News: Four players elected to the “Team of the Season”.

With four players, BVB has the most players in the “Team of the Season” for the 2022/23 season. This is awarded by the DFL in cooperation with EA Sports and includes votes from fans (40 percent), clubs and experts (30 percent each) in the final top 11.

Goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, central defender Nico Schlotterbeck, midfielder Jude Bellingham and attacking player Julian Brandt made it into the team.

Three FC Bayern Munich players, Matthijs de Ligt, Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala, have also made it into the team. There are also Moussa Diaby and Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen and attackers Randal Kolo Muani (Frankfurt) and Niclas Füllkrug (Werder Bremen).

BVB, News: Franz Roggow changes from St. Pauli to Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund has signed Franz Roggow from FC St. Pauli for its second team. The 20-year-old midfielder comes on a free transfer in the summer and has a contract with BVB until 2025.

“We’ve been watching Franz for a number of years and we’re happy that we’ve been able to sign him. He’ll give our game a lot of momentum and creativity,” said Ingo Preuss, sporting director of the U23s, in a press release.

Roggow completed 23 competitive games for the second guard of FC St. Pauli in the Regionalliga Nord this season. His yield: six goals and four assists.

BVB, rumour: Real Madrid are planning meetings about Jude Bellingham

The rumors about a move from Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid are becoming more and more concrete. How ESPN Now, citing internal sources, a team from Real wants to make their way to Germany in the next few days to negotiate the Englishman’s move to Spain.

If further media reports are to be believed, Bellingham has already decided to move to Los Blancos. Now only the exit clause with BVB has to be clarified – and given his contract until 2025, it should be exorbitant.

BVB, News: Ex-Dortmunder Axel Witsel resigns from the national team

Axel Witsel (34) announced his retirement from the Belgian national soccer team on Friday. The former Dortmunder wrote on social networks that it was time “to devote more time to my family and to concentrate on my club”.

Witsel had played the last of his 130 international matches at the 2022 World Cup. In the preliminary round in Qatar he was three times more than 90 minutes on the pitch. The new national coach Domenico Tedesco had recently no longer considered Witsel.

The midfielder made his national debut in 2008 and finished third with the Red Devils at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Witsel had moved from Borussia Dortmund to Atlético Madrid on a free transfer before the season.

Emre Can (29) didn’t start the season particularly well, but then developed into an absolute top performer. But why was it so bad at the end of 2022? “I changed my mindset, I didn’t play well in the first half of the season and I saw that myself,” said the midfielder in the BVB talk “Ballgeflüster”.
