Gladbach farewell to Zakaria apparently sealed

At Borussia Mönchengladbach, it seems that a farewell to midfielder Denis Zakaria is becoming more and more apparent.

The 25-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season and the image now wants to know from the Swiss environment that Zakaria is looking for a new challenge. A contract extension should therefore be excluded.

Gladbach’s sports director Max Eberl had recently been hopeful about a possible signature by the Swiss national player.

“But if he or another player signals to us that he wants to leave, we would be stupid not to deal with it,” said Eberl Sports picture and in this context did not rule out an exit in winter: “On the other hand, we would have to weigh up whether we would be much more successful in the second half of the season with this player.”

Due to his expiring contract, Zakaria can leave the Gladbach team free of charge in the summer. Borussia could still generate a transfer fee in the winter transfer window. For Eberl also a dilemma: “If we hold someone who gets injured in February, everyone says: Max, how stupid were you?”

Gladbach star Zakaria is hotly courted

Zakaria had been linked to several top European clubs in the past few weeks and months. Among others with Inter Milan, Juventus Turin and Arsenal FC.

BVB is also said to be interested in the event of a possible departure from Axel Witsel. According to image Zakaria should however tend to move abroad, allegedly preferably in the direction of England.
