Goretzka mission against BVB apparently endangered

Before the top game against Borussia Dortmund, FC Bayern Munich apparently has a question mark behind national player Leon Goretzka.

The midfielder had to leave team training early on Wednesday. That reported Sky-Reporter Thorben Hoffmann.

Goretzka went straight from the club to the medical department and half an hour later went to the cabin with team doctor Jochen Hahne.

Goretzka recently complained about hip problems. Captain Manuel Neuer was not on the training ground from the start, but apparently joined the team after the warm-up.

It is still unclear whether Goretzka can play against BVB on Saturday. A failure would come at an inopportune time, because in Joshua Kimmich FC Bayern is already missing an immensely important support in the Bayern headquarters due to a corona illness.

Marcel Sabitzer is also suffering from a calf injury and will not be available to the record champions in the coming weeks. The only alternative for the midfield center with match practice is currently only Corentin Tolisso, who recently recommended himself for further starting eleven alongside Goretzka in Kimmich’s absence.

In addition to Tolisso, Marc Roca or Michael Cuisance could also play in the defensive midfield center, but both are hardly in demand under Julian Nagelsmann. Both Roca and Cuisance only came to a single brief assignment this season. For both players, the signs point to farewell in summer or even in winter. Another alternative would be Tanguy Nianzou, who, as a trained central defender, can also play in the sixth position.
