Hertha BSC parted ways with trainer Tayfun Korkut on Sunday in order to set one last point of irritation in the fight for relegation. Sports director Fredi Bobic is under pressure when looking for a successor.
Ten competitive games without a win, five league bankruptcies in a row, a direct relegation zone: Hertha BSC pulled the ripcord one day after the 0: 2 (0: 1) at Borussia Mönchengladbach and separated from coach Tayfun Korkut. In addition to Korkut, his assistant Ilija Aracic was released from his duties with immediate effect on Sunday and will no longer be part of the coaching team.
“There are still eight games left to get the necessary points for staying up. Korkut’s 15-week tenure, meanwhile, ends in a big misunderstanding. The 47-year-old, who took over from Pal Dardai at the end of November, left Hertha on Sunday after just 104 days in office with a miserable point average of 0.69 and just two wins from 13 league games. Korkut: Clear mistake by Bobic
