Maria KeaneSports director Fredi Bobic reacted with sarcasm to investor Lars Windhorst’s offer to buy back the majority stake in Hertha BSC.
“If we can have fun today, you could say: We’ll take everything back for one euro, that’s no problem. But that won’t happen for sure,” said Bobic in the current sports studio ZDF.
Hertha will continue to exchange ideas with Windhorst and his company Tennor, according to Bobic. “The fact is, he offered that. Nevertheless, we will of course always seek to communicate with him, including with Tennor. We have also done that in the last few weeks. Then at the end of the day you have to see what the shares are worth.” said Bobic. The Hertha Presidium will comment on the cause “in due course”.
Windhorst declared on October 5 in the wake of the espionage affair involving ex-President Werner Gegenbauer that he wanted to end his involvement as an investor. Tennor offered the club to buy back the majority stake of 64.7 percent at the purchase price – Hertha would have to raise 374 million euros for this.
