Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Müller are left out for the time being.

Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Müller have both been infected with the corona virus. How long are they out? SPOX reports this in this article.

After four previous Bundesliga games without a win (three draws, one defeat), FC Bayern Munich were able to land a liberation at national level on Friday: Bayer Leverkusen were dealt 4-0 in the Allianz Arena at the start of the seventh matchday.

The day after, however, the German champions, who are now third in the table, had to announce two bad news. Both Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Müller, FCB announced on Saturday, tested positive for the corona virus. “Both players are symptom-free, they are doing well. Kimmich and Müller are in isolation at home,” said the club in a press release.

FC Bayern Munich: How long will Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Müller be missing?

Of course, the question arises in this regard: How long will the two regular players be out because of COVID-19? According to the current corona regulations, an isolation period of five days applies to those who have tested positive. You can end this if you have been symptom-free for at least 48 hours on the fifth day. If the symptoms persist, the quarantine is extended by 48 hours, up to a maximum of ten days in total.

According to the club, Kimmich and Müller were or are from the start, so it looks good for them in terms of an early comeback to the team. It could be on Thursday at the earliest, which also means that the midfielder and the attacking coach Julian Nagelsmann are definitely not available for the Champions League group game on Tuesday against Viktoria Pilsen (6.45 p.m.).

The Munich team continues on Saturday in the Bundesliga with the top game against Borussia Dortmund. In view of the great importance of this away game and their importance in the team, Kimmich and Müller should then possibly be involved again if everything goes according to plan. It will probably be a race against time.

Incidentally, for the German national players it is far from the first corona-related failure. That’s why Kimmich has to sit out for the second time, Müller has even caught it for the third time. However, the 33-year-old also takes it with humor, reported to his followers via Instagram on Saturday: “The COVID triple has come to me. I have to say: this time I didn’t have it on my screen. Of course I hope and am I’m confident that I can get back on the pitch quickly. Today I had an interesting Bundesliga afternoon in front of the TV.” He will definitely not want to stare at this on Saturday – just like Kimmich.
