Maria KeaneCoach Christian Streich from SC Freiburg has expressed concern about the current corona situation in Germany. Politicians should decide and “take care so that we can all get out safely,” said the 56-year-old on Friday: “What doesn’t happen now anyway. Hundreds of people will die every day. But actually we knew it.”
Then Streich criticized the unvaccinated population. “It’s nice that we live in a democracy,” he said, “but then democracy should also be properly understood. Most people understand it correctly, but 20 to 30 percent obviously do not understand it correctly.”
When asked about a possible 2G regulation for professional footballers, Streich wanted to wait for the political decisions. DFL boss Christian Seifert said, “Politics have to decide and football will follow,” said Streich before the duel between the third place in the table against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday (3:30 p.m.).
