According to information from SPOX and GOAL are Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry. That also reports the kicker.
The second vaccination at Musiala is planned for the winter break. That would mean that he would be fully vaccinated at the start of the second half of the season. Gnabry was infected with Corona in April and initially does not need any further vaccination.
Joshua Kimmich and Michael Cuisance, who are currently quarantined like Musiala and Gnabry, could follow suit in the coming days or weeks. A vaccination is now at least conceivable for them.
For Musiala, the question of vaccination arose in the past few months, according to information from SPOX and GOAL more often. As a German national player, he is aware of his role model function and his responsibility for his club, his teammates and opponents, but also for the fans in the stadiums. In the end, it wasn’t just normal fears of a healthy teenager that made him hesitate.
The 18-year-old was also guided by the requirements of the Standing Vaccination Commission (STIKO), which did not recommend a vaccination for children and adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 until mid-August 2021.
Musiala, born in February 2003, borders directly on this age category. In this respect, it was important to him to observe the situation and to gather detailed information together with his family.
Bayern Munich: That’s why Musiala was only vaccinated now
During the month-long decision-making process, several discussions took place with Professor Tim Meyer from the DFB, Professor Roland Schmidt from FC Bayern and other specialists and experts in immunology and functional medicine who care for top athletes as well as patients with long covid and vaccine damage.
Some of the doctors consulted are said to have advocated vaccination from the start, but warned others to be cautious.
And when the STIKO also called vaccinations for people aged 12 to 17 years as advisable in autumn, the new season was already in full swing and there was no longer any possibility of vaccinating without health risks. Prof. Dr. Tim Meyer and his doctor colleagues recently advised against vaccination in high-performance phases and appealed to the players to be vaccinated either during a quarantine break or during the winter break.
Musiala has now put this into practice – after another detailed and intensive consultation with Bayern’s team doctor Roland Schmidt, who assured him that a vaccination would be harmless to his health and performance.
