Maria KeaneMidfielder Jean-Paul Boetius from Bundesliga club Hertha BSC is back on the training ground exactly three weeks after being diagnosed with a testicular tumor.
“Hey guys, Djanga there. I was even back on the pitch,” said the 27-year-old with a big grin in a video message. The Dutchman completed an easy individual session on Thursday, and he was also on the ball again.
“I wanted to thank you again for the support and the good news. I hope to see you back at the stadium soon,” he continued. A testicular tumor was discovered in Boetius during a urological examination in mid-September, which had to be surgically removed. Subsequent chemotherapy was not necessary.
After his team-mate Marco Richter, Dortmund’s Sebastien Haller and Union’s Timo Baumgartl, Boetius was the fourth Bundesliga professional this calendar year to be diagnosed with a testicular tumor.
