Joshua Kimmich is missing after the end of the quarantine until the end of the year

Bayern Munich will have to do without Joshua Kimmich in their games until the end of the year. The national player cannot fully train again after his corona infection due to lung problems.

For the latest news about and by Joshua Kimmich, the FC Bayern website provided a picture of the national player as we know him: the ball at the foot, looking ahead, so the strategist. Kimmich himself posted a photo on a social network showing him with tense facial features during an energetic training sprint. The problem: Both images pretend to be normal.

In fact, Kimmich and Bayern came forward with bad news on Thursday. As he himself announced, the 26-year-old midfielder will be out until the end of the year due to a “slight infiltration of the lungs”.

When the quarantine expired on Thursday, he wanted to resume training, but nothing will come of it. He said that he could not “train fully yet” because of the lung problems.

When the lungs are infiltrated, fluids or cells from blood and lymph vessels leak into the tissue of the lungs. This usually happens in the case of pneumonia – in the case of the unvaccinated Kimmich, it is apparently the result of his corona infection.

Joshua Kimmich was already in quarantine before the infection

He had tested positive for the virus on November 24. As an unvaccinated contact person for someone infected with corona, the national player was already in quarantine.

Kimmich had previously caused a stir because he had admitted that he had not been vaccinated – reason: He had concerns about the long-term consequences of a vaccination.

But now he has to fight the consequences of an infection and will miss the Bundesliga games of the record champions against FSV Mainz 05 on Saturday, at VfB Stuttgart (December 14th) and against VfL Wolfsburg (December 17th).

In spite of the lung problems, Kimmich assured: “I’m doing very well”, he announced accordingly optimistically that he would now complete a training course and “can hardly wait to be there again in January”.
