Julian Nagelsmann explains Niklas Süle’s failure

Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann has to do without Niklas Süle against VfL Wolfsburg, Dayot Upamecano starts instead.

“Niki has several problems. Corona disease has thrown him back in terms of physical fitness,” said Nagelsmann SAT 1. Süle was out in mid-November due to a corona infection.

In the 5-0 win at VfB Stuttgart on Tuesday, he played through for the first time. “Niki has a decent body that he has to move and that moves very dynamically. The muscles caused problems,” said Nagelsmann. Among other things, his back is troubling him.

Again in the starting line-up against Wolfsburg is Marc Roca, who made his starting line-up debut this season in Stuttgart. “I was very impressed by Marc against Stuttgart,” said Nagelsmann.

Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Corentin Tolisso are still out in the central midfield, Marcel Sabitzer at least returned to the squad.
