Karl-Heinz Rummenigge "ducked" Julian Nagelsmann

Peter Neururer sharply criticized the statements made by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge about Julian Nagelsmann. The former chairman of the board of Bayern Munich “defeated the coach in front of his own team,” said Neururer sports1 in the program “Rudi Brückner – the talk on Monday”.

“I think he’s a very talented coach. But you mustn’t forget that he’s a very young coach who of course still has to gain experience,” Rummenigge added BR24 said about Nagelsmann. The statement was interpreted as disrespect to the 67-year-old.

Rummenigge’s statement “came across as very stupid,” said Neururer. Former Bayern professional Hans Dorfner had previously criticized Rummenigge’s statements. “Now they’re coming out of the holes at FC Bayern again – Uli Hoeneß from Tegernsee or Kalle Rummenigge. Just let the boy work. I would wish that the bosses, who are now retired, would finally be quiet,” says the 57-year-old in picture-Podcast.

Nagelsmann himself, on the other hand, reacted quite easily to the Rummenigge quotes after Bayern Munich’s 2-2 win at Borussia Dortmund. “Everyone says that, not just Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. In my opinion, too many say it. I’m a talented coach, and I’m proud of it,” said the 35-year-old.

Rummenigge then spoke again. For him, talent means “nothing other than that someone has great potential. You can see this great potential in him in the handwriting of the team”.
