Maria KeaneBorussia Dortmund’s currently most stable defender Manuel Akanji will apparently be out until the beginning of next year. The report Ruhr news.
The Swiss was not in the BVB squad for the final Champions League group game against Besiktas on Tuesday evening because he had to undergo a “minor knee surgery”. Borussia Dortmund announced this on Tuesday evening.
Even Sport1-Reporter Patrick Berger confirmed the failure until the beginning of next year a little later via Twitter. Akanji has consistently been one of the strongest players in recent games and has secured the defense against the weakening Mats Hummels time and again.
In addition to Akanji, Dortmund have to do without substitute goalkeepers Marwin Hitz (Achilles tendon problems) and Roman Bürki (ankle). Julian Brandt is currently recovering from a concussion that he suffered in the top game against Bayern Munich.
