Here you can find yesterday’s FCB news and rumours.

FC Bayern, News: Lewandowski insider unpacks

The Polish journalist and Lewandowski biographer Pawel Wilkowicz commented on Robert Lewandowski’s situation at FC Bayern. “Lewandowski wants to go because I think he’s exhausted everything in Munich. Nothing and nobody can stop him there anymore,” said Wilkowicz sports1.

An important factor is the poor relationship between the striker and the current Bayern bosses. While the good relationships with Uli Hoeneß and Hansi Flick were very important for the 33-year-old, it should be difficult with the current sports director Hasan Salihamidzic. “I think the relationship between Lewandowski and Salihamidzic was never particularly warm, to put it mildly,” said Wilkowicz.

Lewandowski left the management in the dark. “Of course I understand their actions when I put myself in the Bayern perspective. Salihamidzic and Kahn certainly appreciate Lewandowski’s achievements, but they also think about the future. They know how old Robert is,” said the Lewy insider.

Lewandowski is still under contract in Munich until 2023, but would still like to leave the German record champions for FC Barcelona. Bayern are still resisting a premature farewell to the Pole.

Wilkowicz does not believe that Lewandowski would even go on strike to force a change. “I can’t imagine Robert going on strike because I think it’s important for him that he can claim to have acted correctly. He’s made the right decisions so far. Both sides owe each other a lot, it makes no point in destroying it with something like that. I can’t imagine that he would want to stoop to Dembele’s level.”

FC Bayern, News: Watzke congratulates FCB on Mane

BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke congratulated FCB on signing Sadio Mane. “Sadio Mane is a very good transfer, on which I expressly congratulate Bayern – but only as DFL supervisory board chairman, because like Götze he is good for the Bundesliga, not as boss of Borussia Dortmund,” said Watzke in the picture on sunday.

The statements of the former Liverpool player Dean Saunders (“Mane will sit in his armchair, light a cigar, play for Bayern in third gear and ruin the best two years of his football life”) are meanwhile annoying for Watzke.

“There are always some arrogant idiots, like in this case. As a board member of Europe’s club association ECA, I know that German football still has a good reputation. The English didn’t win any of the three European Cup titles last season – even if I would have treated Jürgen Klopp with Liverpool in the Champions League,” said Watzke.

FC Bayern, rumor: FCB apparently hot for Adam Aznou

Adam Aznou, Spain U16 international and FC Barcelona defender, is apparently on FC Bayern Munich’s radar. That reports the Mundo Deportivo.

The left-back’s contract, which some in Spain already see as Jordi Alba’s successor, expires this summer, which apparently calls the German record champions onto the scene.

But according to the Spanish sports newspaper, the interest is not just one-sided: Aznou himself is said to want to go to Munich. Both Bayern and FC Barcelona are said to have already submitted a contract offer, but the junior international is apparently more inclined to move to Germany.
