Lucas Hernández seems to agree with Paris Saint-Germain

Lucas Hernández is apparently aiming for a move from Bayern Munich to Paris Saint-Germain. According to the French L’Equipe the 27-year-old central defender and PSG already agree that the two clubs would now have to agree on a transfer fee. Had previously sports1 reported specific PSG interest.

Until recently, everything at Hernández pointed to an extension of his contract in Munich, which ran until 2024. Negotiations with FC Bayern were well advanced, and there was talk of extending the high-paying contract with the same salary.

If Hernández does not extend, FC Bayern would have to sell him this summer in order to generate a decent fee. Hernández joined Munich from Atletico Madrid in 2019 for €80m and remains the record-breaking acquisition to date. Apart from PSG, a Spanish and an English club are said to have registered their interest.

Hernández, traditionally prone to injury, missed the second half of the season due to a cruciate ligament tear he sustained while playing for the French national team during the World Cup in Qatar. He completed his first team training session on Tuesday, and there was speculation about a place in the squad for the final Bundesliga game against 1. FC Köln.

“For me he is clearly a leading player. I can’t wait until we can get started together,” praised coach Thomas Tuchel recently.
