Marcel Sabitzer indicates a lack of trust

So far, Marcel Sabitzer has not really arrived at Bayern. The 27-year-old can often only be found on the bench with the German record champions. In the opinion of the Austrian, this is apparently primarily due to the lack of trust on the part of those responsible.

“In the situation in which I find myself, minutes of play are the most important thing,” said Sabitzer on the sidelines of a media round of the Austrian national team.

In contrast to Bayern, where he only collected 415 minutes of play in the current season and was hardly able to convince, he is an integral part of the starting line-up under the coach Franco Foda and recently scored in the World Cup qualifying in a 4-2 victory over Israel.

“Here I especially feel the trust and security that I am needed. If I feel and feel that, I can also achieve my best performance,” said Sabitzer. Every player needs “somewhere trust and security in order to be able to call up his best possible performance.”

For ÖFB coach Foda, it is only a matter of time before his protégé will also start with the German record champions. “I am convinced that quality will prevail at the end of the day. And it has the quality. It will also prevail at Bayern,” said Foda.

Since his transfer to Munich, Sabitzer has only been in the starting line-up twice, most recently against Freiburg he wasn’t even part of the squad. In his total of 13 appearances for Bayern, the 27-year-old is still waiting for his first goal participation.
