Marco Neppe new technical director

Bayern Munich has given its previous chief scout Marco Neppe more responsibility and promoted him to technical director. In addition, the German soccer record champion named Michael Gerlinger, previously Director Legal, Personnel and Institutional Relations, as “Vice President Sports Business and Competitions” of his AG.

“Marco Neppe and Michael Gerlinger have been doing valuable work for FC Bayern for many years. In their newly created positions, both of them will be able to contribute their skills even better in the future,” said CEO Oliver Kahn about the changes.

Neppe has been with FC Bayern since July 2014. He earned his promotion “through his work, his competence and his development,” said Kahn. The 35-year-old will remain head of scouting and will also take on “expanded activities in operational management planning and administrative tasks relating to the professional team”.

Gerlinger (48) has been working for the club since 2005. His “experience, knowledge and network are of great importance to FC Bayern in the area of association work on an international level as well as in economic and sporting issues,” said Kahn. Gerlinger is considered to be the central interface between Bavaria and associations such as ECA, FIFA and UEFA.
