Matthias Kreutzer takes over as interim coach against Hertha

After Frank Kramer’s release, assistant Matthias Kreutzer will take care of the Bundesliga club Schalke 04 as interim coach in the important game at Hertha BSC on Sunday (5.30 p.m.). This was announced by the promoted on Thursday.

“The coaching team, led by Matthias Kreutzer, will prepare the team as best as possible for the important game in Berlin in the short time available,” says a statement from the sporting management: “We will be responsible for the decision on the replacement in the position of head coach, in the interest of the club, to examine all options that are available to us, including in the short term. That is our responsibility towards the 165,000 members and millions of fans.”

After five competitive defeats in a row, the penultimate table parted ways with Kramer on Wednesday. Among other things, the former Bochum coach Thomas Reis is being traded as a successor. Noisy sky but he is said to have already canceled, just like Bruno Labbadia.
