Max Eberl apologizes to Arne Friedrich after the "shut up" attack

Borussia Mönchengladbach’s sports director Max Eberl let himself be carried away in the direction of the Berliner Bank in the 1-0 defeat against Hertha BSC. The 48-year-old apologized for this.

“Shut up, Arne! Shut up,” Eberl yelled to Arne Friedrich on Saturday during the game. The Hertha sports director had previously been angry about a duel between Gladbach’s Nico Elvedi and Krzyzstof Piatek.

Eberl was sorry for his emotional outburst afterwards, he tried to talk to Friedrich. “Yes, I was very emotional, but I apologized on the pitch and then again in the catacombs,” said the former professional to the image and added: “In a game like this it can get heated, but everything is cleared up.”

Friedrich confirmed the debate. “Max apologized to me right after the game. Emotions come up in the game, but for me that’s already forgotten. I really appreciate Max,” he said.

During the game there had been some tricky situations for the referees. The statistics department reported a total of 32 foul games.
