FC Bayern, News: Nagelsmann gives injury update

After FC Bayern’s 5-0 (2-0) victory over SC Freiburg, FCB coach Julian Nagelsmann commented on the current injury status of the recently absent Thomas Müller and Manuel Neuer.

“There’s a chance, it’s not impossible, but I haven’t planned it in my head right now. We’re looking at it from day to day. I see a more realistic chance for the squad with Thomas than with Manu. how restricted he is from painkillers – and I don’t want him to be taking painkillers and having to play all the time, because then it will only get worse. We still have a lot planned for Manu this year and next year. So you have to watch how quickly the shoulder heals,” explained Nagelsmann.

Bayern have to play away at FC Augsburg in the DFB Cup next Wednesday, but it could be too early for the two FCB stars to play. “The way I saw it, it won’t quite work,” said sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic about Neuer. The Bayern keeper is currently out due to shoulder problems, while Müller is suffering from muscular problems.

FC Bayern, News: Salihamidzic praises the team

Bayern’s sports director Hasan Salihamidzic praised the German record champions’ team after beating SC Freiburg (5-0). “That’s exactly the benchmark,” said Salihamidzic after the clear success and added: “We have to be measured by that.”

The 45-year-old praised Bayern’s “intensity, emotion and concentration” when defending and going forward. In the past few weeks and also in the 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund, Munich had conceded some unnecessary goals. Scoring odds was also a ubiquitous topic.

FCB striker Serge Gnabry spoke of an “important sign after a few unnecessarily difficult weeks” and once again alluded to the five games without a win on the previous six match days.

FC Bayern, News: FCB beats Freiburg

FC Bayern has returned with an exclamation mark in the title race. Coach Julian Nagelsmann’s team defeated SC Freiburg, who had been unbeaten for two months, 5-0 (2-0) in the top game at the end of the 10th matchday and climbed to second place in the Bundesliga table.

Serge Gnabry (13th) gave Bayern the lead in the sold-out Allianz Arena with a header. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (33rd) expanded this before the break. After the break, Leroy Sané (52′), Sadio Mané (55′) and substitute Marcel Sabitzer (80′) made things clear.
