Maria KeaneJulian Nagelsmann caused a big surprise with a squad nomination for Bayern’s game in Hoffenheim.
Squad surprise at FC Bayern Munich: For the game of the German record champions at TSG Hoffenheim (from 3.30 p.m. in the live ticker) coach Julian Nagelsmann has nominated offensive talent Arijon Ibrahimovic for the squad.
The 16-year-old replaces Paul Wanner in the squad, who, after consulting the coaching team, made the decision to gain match practice in the U23 team in the regional league. The Bayern amateurs lost 3-1 to the reserves of 1. FC Nürnberg in the Grünwalder Stadion on Friday evening.
Ibrahimovic was already in the squad for a home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach in early 2022, but has not been used in the Bundesliga so far. In the current season, Ibrahimovic has mainly played for the U19s and has scored nine goals and four assists in ten games.
Like the other offensive players Sadio Mané and Mathys Tel, Ibrahimovic is initially on the bench. Most recently, the 16-year-old drew attention to himself with thoughts of emigration, as he allegedly does not see enough chances of assignments with the Bayern professionals.
