Coach Daniel Farke Borussia Mönchengladbach reacted calmly to the whistles of the fans before the home game against VfL Bochum.
“If you’re not prepared to endure such situations, you shouldn’t be the coach of Borussia Mönchengladbach,” said Farke after the 2-0 win at Borussia Park.
The supporters of the five-time German champions had vented their displeasure when Farke’s name was read out. “I’m old and experienced enough to endure it,” said Farke, who will continue to look after Gladbach in the new season.
Farke is the right man for the new start he is aiming for, said sporting director Roland Virkus recently. He deserves this chance. With the win against Bochum, Borussia has also eliminated the remaining doubts about staying up in the league.
