Oliver Kahn explains the weakness of Sadio Mané

Bayern Munich’s CEO Oliver Kahn gave the reasons for Sadio Mané’s ongoing phase of weakness and strengthened the summer newcomer.

“Sadio is looking for himself at Bayern Munich,” said Kahn on the show on Sunday Sky90 about the Senegalese.

Mané has eleven goals and five assists in 29 competitive games this season. Even before his inflammation in the head of the fibula, which forced him to take a long break shortly before the World Cup, he had not lived up to the high expectations. He has managed just one assist in six appearances since his return.

According to Kahn, the 30-year-old would have difficulties with the “quality” of the competition in Munich: “He doesn’t know that. He wasn’t used to that at Liverpool either.”

Nevertheless, Kahn believes the attacker is capable of a significant increase in performance. “We hope that sooner or later he will prevail,” he explained. “He has all the support from us and from the coach. Maybe he’ll show us soon.”

Mané switched from Liverpool to the German record champions for 32 million euros (plus bonus payments) for the new season. He recorded 120 goals (48 assists) in 269 games for the Reds.
