Maria KeaneUnpleasant and tricky, but not serious: Oliver Kahn has allayed concerns about national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. “You have to wait and see, from day to day. It’s a painful story, but nothing serious,” said the Bayern Munich CEO on Tuesday afternoon.
Neuer is suffering from a bruised shoulder joint. The 36-year-old will therefore miss the fifth competitive game of the German record champions in a row in the Champions League at FC Barcelona on Wednesday (9 p.m.).
He missed team training again on Tuesday, but did a running session. Coach Julian Nagelsmann recently emphasized that he “does not assume” that the DFB captain’s participation in the World Cup in Qatar (November 20 to December 18) is in danger.
His comeback is planned against FSV Mainz 05 on Saturday (3:30 p.m.).
