Out of trainer Oliver Glasner "difficult to convey"

President Peter Fischer understands the anger of many fans about the coaching decision at Eintracht Frankfurt. It is “a situation that is difficult to understand and explain,” said the 67-year-old ZDF-Sportstudio with a view to the announcement of the separation from Oliver Glasner at the end of the season.

Fischer defended sports director Markus Krösche, who had made the decision. “If I’m honest, I would certainly have vetoed at that moment,” admitted the SGE president, but after intensive discussions in board circles he said: “I understood the decision and would sign it the same way.”

Krösche is “a very level-headed sports director who does not allow himself to be seduced emotionally,” said Fischer, who will stop at the beginning of the year: “There were simply things that Krösche saw no chance of arguing otherwise.” It was analyzed: “Where do we stand, where do we want to go, what does the future look like? We came to the conclusion that we have to change that – even if it’s difficult to convey.”

He praised Glasner as a “great coach who will go down in the history of Eintracht Frankfurt”. At the DFB Cup final in Berlin against RB Leipzig, they wanted to “let him go through the big goal,” said Fischer. Only then does he expect a decision on the successor.
