Maria KeaneDanish police have applied to UEFA to ban Borussia Dortmund fans from attending the Champions League match at FC Copenhagen on November 2nd. BVB announced this in the publication of its fan information for the duel. There were riots around the first leg (3-0) on September 6th.
“Even if UEFA hasn’t made a decision on this yet, pre-sales (…) are being prepared. We’ll let you know about the decision as soon as it reaches us,” said Dortmund.
As an “absolute exception”, BVB only sells personalized tickets to members and generally advises against identifying yourself as an away fan in Copenhagen.
“Even if we are always proud to be able to present our black and yellow all over the world, it cannot be ruled out that there will be provocations or even threats of violence in the environment of this game due to the extreme rivalry between individual groups of both fan camps can come to uninvolved fans”, says the BVB message.
Due to the riots in the first leg, BVB is threatened with a partial exclusion from the audience. UEFA has suspended a verdict published on Tuesday for two years. If BVB becomes a “repeat offender”, the following European home game has to be played with at least 6,000 fewer fans than usual.
