President Herbert Hainer apologizes for events in the previous year

At the beginning of FC Bayern Munich’s annual general meeting, President Herbert Hainer apologized for his behavior at the event last year. This evening was “not a day of glory”, “I too,” he added, “made mistakes that evening as the chairman of the meeting, for which I would like to formally apologize again”.

Last year, Hainer no longer allowed comments from members who wanted to get involved in a controversial FC Bayern sponsorship deal. This had caused a riot.

However, the 69-year-old did not specifically address the criticism of the connection with “Qatar Airways” at the beginning of this year’s meeting.

Initially, Hainer only addressed how FC Bayern handled and communicated with the subject.

The “most important lesson” from this evening was: “As a club we want to be a partner and play one-two, we have to keep in touch.”
