Rafael van der Vaart advises Ryan Gravenberch to leave FCB

Rafael van der Vaart advises Ryan Gravenberch (20) to leave Bayern for a while. The former Bundesliga professional is convinced of the great potential of his Dutch compatriot, but takes a critical view of the short playing times in Munich.

As an expert at the TV station Ziggo sports Van der Vaart compared Gravenberch with BVB star Jude Bellingham (19): “The big difference is: Bellingham is one category lower at a club and he always plays. I think Gravenberch is better. In everything. Especially physically.”

The 40-year-old continued: “You know what’s the most important thing when you come to a new club? The first two weeks. You have to prove in every training session and in every game that you were worth the transfer. It would be good , if Gravenberch goes on loan to Ajax. He just has to play football again.”

Gravenberch switched from Ajax to Bayern last summer for 18.5 million euros. There, the central midfielder has not gotten beyond the role of noble reservist. He therefore also missed the World Cup in Qatar and expressed his dissatisfaction last fall and in the last few days.

There are always rumors of a change about Gravenberch. The English first division clubs FC Liverpool and FC Arsenal are said to be interested in the 20-year-old, whose contract at Säbener Straße runs until 2027.

Gravenberch has made 27 appearances (one goal, one assist) for FC Bayern this season. However, he only played the full 90 minutes in two games. Even under the new coach Thomas Tuchel, he has only made two appearances as a joker.

Despite the mixed season and the well-known interested parties, a premature farewell in the summer should not be an issue for the German record champions. Loud sky you really want to keep Gravenberch.
