Maria KeaneArjen Robben starts a second career as a coach after the end of his active career. “After the winter break, I’ll be taking on my oldest son’s team as a coach,” said the former Bayern Munich professional on the German record champions’ homepage.
Robben (37) had finally said goodbye to his home club FC Groningen at the beginning of November. Lately he has “received a lot of different offers,” he reported, “from football or television, for example. But I actually canceled everything.”
He currently wants to enjoy the time with his family and the children Lynn, Luka and Kai, said Robben: “Let’s see what happens in the future.”
Groningen is also vying for him and wants to involve him in another role. Robben left it open whether his position as a youth coach is the beginning of a real coaching career.
