Dortmund is apparently planning to change salary structures

Sports director Sebastian Kehl from Borussia Dortmund made a plea for video evidence despite the clear wrong decision in the game at Eintracht Frankfurt (2: 1).

“The past has shown that the video assistant has solved a lot of blatant wrong decisions fairly and fairly often enough. Questioning everything again is not the right way,” Kehl told the newspapers Funk media group.

When the score was 1-1 towards the end of the first half, Frankfurt should have been awarded a penalty after Karim Adeyemi pushed Jesper Lindström. But video assistant Robert Kampka did not correct referee Sascha Stegemann’s mistake.

“During the game, I assumed that the situation had been checked and was therefore acceptable in its form. Of course, the pictures then speak a different language,” said Kehl, adding: “The interaction between referees always needs improvement, and so do we were already victims – and yesterday we were lucky.”

The VAR has made football “fairer and more just in many situations – above all, offside decisions should be mentioned,” emphasized Kehl.
