Sky cameraman injured! Pyro incident overshadows Borussia Dortmund’s thrashing of 1. FC Köln

Maria KeaneOn the sidelines of Borussia Dortmund’s 6-1 win over 1. FC Köln on Saturday evening, a cameraman from sky injured by pyrotechnics.
As commentator Wolff Fuss announced in the closing stages of the game, the cameraman was hit in the face and injured in the eye. He was taken to the hospital during the game. There is no further information about his state of health.
It is also unclear which group of fans ignited the aforementioned pyrotechnics. Especially in the Cologne fan block, a lot of pyro was burned off over the course of the game. According to the picture, the cameraman was hit in the “vicinity of the fan group”.
The newspaper quotes Effzeh license director Thomas Kessler: “I received the information on my cell phone shortly after the game. Under no circumstances should it happen that someone is injured when they do their job. Then you have to talk about it very clearly .”
In the end, BVB won the game clearly: With a 6-1 win, Edin Terzic’s team took the top spot in the Bundesliga, at least for the time being.
