Maria KeaneThe fourth wave of corona has Germany firmly under control, politics is reintroducing stricter rules and is already discussing compulsory vaccination for football professionals. Should the ghost games in the German professional leagues return in view of the current situation?
From March 2020, ghost games took place in the national leagues for many months due to the Covid19 pandemic. It was a difficult time for fans and clubs alike, and many clubs got into dire financial straits.
After spectators were gradually allowed to attend the games again and finally it was possible to play in some places in front of a sold out house, in autumn 2021, due to the fourth corona wave with record numbers of infections, one is faced with the question of whether a return to the ghost games is not necessary.
And now you are asked: tell us what needs to be done from your point of view – return of the ghost games: yes or no?
