That was in Schweinsteiger's letter

Babak Rafati revealed what Bastian Schweinsteiger wrote to him in a letter after the former Bundesliga referee tried to commit suicide around ten years ago.

Rafati had attempted suicide on November 19, 2011 before the Bundesliga match between 1. FC Köln and 1. FSV Mainz 05, which would have been under his direction.

After his assistants had saved his life, he received a letter in the hospital from the then Bayern Munich midfielder.

“When that happened, Schweinsteiger sent me a letter relatively quickly. My wife then brought this letter to the clinic,” explained Rafati Picture TV and explained: “At the time I didn’t really hear that, but months later I realized that it was good.”

Schweinsteiger gave Rafati a lot of strength with his words: “He wrote to me at the time: ‘Mr. Rafati, you only have to get up once more than you fall. All the best for you.'”

Rafati on Schweini letter: “I think that’s outstanding”

In addition, the ex-referee emphasized that in the letter from the world champion from 2014, sporting ulterior motives or the like did not play any role.

“One must not forget: Schweinsteiger knew very well that I would never whistle again. So there was no calculation behind it. It was a human gesture. And I think that’s outstanding,” said Rafati.
