Trainer Marsch and Captain Gulacsi tested positive for Corona

RB Leipzig has to play in the groundbreaking Champions League game at Club Brugge on Wednesday (9 p.m. /DAZN) pass after positive corona tests without trainer Jesse Marsch and captain Peter Gulacsi.

Co-trainer Achim Beierlorzer will represent Marsch on the sidelines.

Marsch tested positive the day before the penultimate group game. The American, fully vaccinated, has gone into domestic isolation. For goalkeeper Gulacsi, a rapid test gave a positive result, the result of the PCR test is still pending. Co-trainer Marco Kurth is also missing in Bruges after a corona case in the family environment. Kurth did not test positive.

For Leipzig, victory is a must in the final for third place – otherwise the ambitious runner-up will gamble away the qualification for the Europa League.
