Investor Lars Windhorst comments on allegations of espionage

The posse around investor Lars Windhorst plays no role in Hertha trainer Sandro Schwarz’s day-to-day work. “From a sporting point of view there are no changes. We get the big issue. But there is no change as far as our everyday life, processes and communication are concerned. It has no effect on what happens on the pitch for us,” said Schwarz before the home game on Sunday against Europa League starter SC Freiburg (5.30 p.m. / DAZN).

Nobody has to worry. “I have a lot of trust in the presidium and the management. It doesn’t matter in our everyday life with each other,” said Schwarz: “The doors are open, we can work and be diligent. All good.”

Against SC Freiburg, Hertha wants to extend the series of four games without defeat. However, Black expects a difficult task. “Freiburg started the season very well, they are very stable. They are a team that is very aggressive, defends well and has good footballing opportunities.”

Entrepreneur Windhorst announced his departure from Hertha in the course of the espionage affair involving ex-President Werner Gegenbauer and the resulting disputes. Through his company Tennor, Windhorst offers Hertha “to buy back our majority stake of 64.7 percent at the purchase price at the time”. The club would have to raise the 374 million euros invested by Windhorst – but would rather help him find a buyer.
