Trouble with Fabio Blanco at Eintracht Frankfurt: Winter switch to PSV Eindhoven?

For Fabio Blanco, things are anything but smooth at Eintracht.

With the signing of the Spanish top talent Fabio Blanco, Eintracht Frankfurt landed an internationally acclaimed coup on the transfer market in the summer. Since coach Oliver Glasner, contrary to another agreement, is not used for the 17-year-old, a timely separation is in the room.

According to information from SPOX and Goal have already indicated that four European clubs are interested in signing the dribbling winger in winter. Above all PSV Eindhoven.

The Dutch first division team is known for enabling talented players to make the leap into the professional field quickly. That was actually also the plan of Eintracht with Blanco. At least Ben Manga’s plan.

After months of scouting, the “director of professional football” of the Hessians courted the home grown of Valencia CF. His promise to Blanco: He will get the chance to get an immediate match with the professionals.

The player then made a conscious decision not to move within his Spanish homeland. Real Sociedad, for example, guaranteed him appearances for the second team in the second division under coach Xabi Alonso. Real Madrid and FC Barcelona also approached Blanco.

But Eintracht gave the players side the best feeling. The U18 national player, full of euphoria, took his entire family from Valencia to Frankfurt and hired a German teacher. But only a few weeks after his arrival, he found that there wasn’t much left of the original arrangement.

Sports director Markus Krösche, who followed Fredi Bobic at the beginning of June and had little to do with Blancos commitment, seems, like new coach Oliver Glasner, to be of the opinion that the teenager must be carefully built up.

Eintracht Frankfurt: Empty promise to Fabio Blanco

Blanco is allowed to train with the professionals, but due to the large squad, he is regularly sorted out in the final games in training and instead has to deal with himself – most recently, for example, with runs around the court.

And because Eintracht has no second team, Blanco is currently only in action for the U19 of the SGE in the Junior Bundesliga. Similarly bitter and frustrating: the non-nomination for the Europa League squad, which he said, according to information from SPOX and Goal learned from the media.

No wonder that the right-footer is anything but satisfied with his adventure in Frankfurt so far. “Because he could also say: I could have stayed at Valencia for the U19,” said SGE coach Glasner recently, speaking of a “tricky situation”. A situation that should be cleared up quickly from Eintracht’s point of view – otherwise not only Blanco may be gone in winter, but also the international reputation of Hessen with similarly talented talents.
