Maria KeaneManager Oliver Ruhnert from Union Berlin has sharply condemned the fan scandal in Malmö. “There are very few stupid people who go there with the aim of becoming criminals,” he said on Sunday Sport1 double pass: “They must be removed.” At the same time, Ruhnert advocated the controlled use of pyrotechnics in certain areas as “part of the fan scene”.
The double pass every Sunday from 11 a.m. LIVE on Sport1.
“Anyone who stands there and burns pyrotechnics is not the crazy people who shoot down their own team with firecrackers,” said Ruhnert and announced a timely statement from the club. “We’re working things out,” said the 50-year-old. It is necessary to reconstruct who was involved.
Union’s first win in the Europa League last Thursday at Malmö FF (1-0) was overshadowed by violent pyro attacks from the guest block.
After about an hour of play, some supporters shot several firecrackers onto the field, and firecrackers also flew from the home area. The game was interrupted for almost 30 minutes, and a termination was also up for debate.
