Maria KeaneFootball professional Timo Baumgartl from the Bundesliga club Union Berlin has gone under the actor. On December 2nd, the defender can be seen in the RTL series “Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten” in a guest role.
“As far as I know, GZSZ asked 1. FC Union Berlin to get a player for a guest appearance. I didn’t know anything about it and was directed to this shoot under a pretext,” said Baumgartl.
Even as a child, the 25-year-old, who plays himself in episode 7398, was a fan of the TV soap. “It was really exciting for me to be able to take a look behind the scenes. The meeting with Wolfgang Bahro, who plays Jo Gerner, also fulfilled a childhood dream,” said Baumgartl.
Baumgartl also shot for his scene with Bahro and the actresses Chryssanthi Kavazi and Joana Schümer. “It’s really impressive, but also a lot of work to learn the lyrics by heart, and before a scene is in the can it can take a few takes,” says Baumgartl, who jokingly referred to himself as a “part-time actor”.
