VfB Stuttgart – Bruno Labbadia is annoyed with referee Felix Zwayer: “That’s shit”

Bruno Labbadia was stinky. The coach of VfB Stuttgart was really annoyed about the decisions made by referee Felix Zwayer after the recent defeat.

At 1: 2 (0: 1) at RB Leipzig, the referee decided on foul on Friday after a duel between VfB captain Wataru Endo and Dani Olmo. Dominik Szoboszlai (25′) used the free kick from 30 meters to take the lead 1-0.

“We don’t need to talk about it. There’s no better way to win the ball in counter-pressing. I’ve never seen how you can blow the whistle. I can’t think of much about that, but that’s how it is,” said the coach DAZN and also complained about not having received a penalty at TSG Hoffenheim (2-2) last Tuesday: “That’s shit. But we still have to accept that.”

Meanwhile, RB coach Marco Rose said he “didn’t have whistled for the foul either”.

At the post-match press conference, Labbadia further elaborated on his criticism. “I like it when football is just allowed to run its course. Even if we are disadvantaged. But blowing the whistle on things like that – then we have to stop. We need tackles in football. Football lives from that. Of course none where you risk injuries but when it comes to something like that, it’s really awesome.”

Labbadia: “That’s far too little”

With 16 points, the Stuttgarters are still deep in the relegation battle. There was also no victory in the third game under new coach Labbadia, who came at the beginning of December. Before the Hoffenheim game, VfB separated 1-1 from FSV Mainz 05 at the start of the league.

“Two points from the last three games is far too little for the way we played. We deserved a lot more. And I give the boys that we have to keep going,” said Labbadia.
