Maria KeaneOne day after the separation from head coach Mark van Bommel, his assistant Michael Frontzeck temporarily took over the training at Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg. The 57-year-old led a first training session at the Lower Saxony on Monday morning and is expected to do the same on Tuesday (10.30 a.m.).
The Bundesliga ninth announced on Sunday a timely solution for the permanent successor of the Dutchman. A presentation of the new trainer on the non-training Wednesday seems conceivable.
After the first round of the DFB-Pokal, the Champions League participant will only be able to play on Saturday (3:30 p.m. /Sky) the next competitive game at Bayer Leverkusen.
Edin Terzic, sports director at Borussia Dortmund, and the currently jobless Florian Kohfeldt, who most recently worked as a coach at Werder Bremen, are the first candidates for the executive chair at VfL. Domenico Tedesco and Ole Werner are also mentioned.
