VfL Wolfsburg - After separation from van Bommel: Frontzeck takes over for the time being

One day after the separation from head coach Mark van Bommel, his assistant Michael Frontzeck temporarily took over the training at Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg. The 57-year-old led a first training session at the Lower Saxony on Monday morning and is expected to do the same on Tuesday (10.30 a.m.).

The Bundesliga ninth announced on Sunday a timely solution for the permanent successor of the Dutchman. A presentation of the new trainer on the non-training Wednesday seems conceivable.

After the first round of the DFB-Pokal, the Champions League participant will only be able to play on Saturday (3:30 p.m. /Sky) the next competitive game at Bayer Leverkusen.

Edin Terzic, sports director at Borussia Dortmund, and the currently jobless Florian Kohfeldt, who most recently worked as a coach at Werder Bremen, are the first candidates for the executive chair at VfL. Domenico Tedesco and Ole Werner are also mentioned.
